ELA Teacher

Passionate educator dedicated to empowering multilingual learners 🌍📚 | Sharing practical strategies for natural language acquisition

My Journey: From Language Learner to Language Educator

As an educator, I know firsthand the challenges of learning in a language that isn’t your own. Growing up as a non-native English speaker, I struggled to understand different accents and access academic content. Those experiences shaped my teaching philosophy and deepened my commitment to supporting multilingual learners in the classroom. Now, as an ELA teacher in an international school, I work every day to ensure that multilingual learners don’t just survive in their learning environment—they thrive. I believe that language should never be a barrier to success, and that every student deserves to feel valued, included, and supported in their learning journey.

Why I Created LEAVES

In many classrooms, multilingual learners are expected to assimilate into English at the cost of their home languages and identities. I created LEAVES to challenge that mindset and provide teachers with practical, research-backed strategies that affirm students' multilingualism while helping them access academic content.LEAVES is about empowering educators to create inclusive, language-rich classrooms where students are supported, not silenced—where they can learn, grow, and engage in meaningful ways without losing who they are.
