Social Presence
This page is a collection of the conversations, presentations, podcasts, and professional reflections that have shaped and continue to shape the LEAVES Approach.
As a multilingual educator and former language learner myself, I care deeply about creating learning environments where students feel safe, valued, and confident enough to take risks in their learning. Much of my work is grounded in Stephen Krashen’s ideas around comprehensible input and the affective filter - the understanding that students learn language best when anxiety is lowered and when they feel emotionally secure in the classroom.
Through podcast conversations and conference presentations, I share ideas about supporting multilingual learners in ways that affirm their identities while also helping them access academic content successfully. I am especially passionate about helping mainstream subject teachers feel equipped with practical, low-prep strategies that support language development without adding unrealistic expectations or workload.
This space will continue to grow with new presentations, discussions, reflections, and collaborations as the LEAVES Approach evolves alongside my work with multilingual learners and educators in international school communities.
